NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Butter Gloss, Non-Sticky Lip Gloss – Madeleine (Mid-Tone Nude)

I’ve been a Butter Gloss fanatic forever, so I usually purchase this several times a year. Unfortunately, NYX has discontinued some of my all time favorite colors, so I’ve been forced to try and find alternatives in their current line up. One of the things that first drew me to Butter Gloss is that it was originally a pretty sheer formulation that offered a nice color payoff while still retaining a sheerness that prevented garishness. Some of the newer colors I’ve tried had way more opacity than I’m used to (and are more like the Intense Butter Gloss, if NYX still makes that?), so my search continues. However, I did come across this shade and while it’s not quite what I usually go for, it’s close enough to be a pinch hitter until NYX either comes out with a few colors closer to what I prefer, or someone else comes out with something comparable.What I love about Butter Gloss: It’s lightweight. It never feels sticky. It has really nice staying power for a lip gloss. A lot of the colors are sheer washes of color, giving you nice color payoff without being overwhelming. It’s so economical that you can keep one in every car and purse you own – and still not break the bank. It has a nicer formulation than far pricier options. It doesn’t have a noticeable smell or taste (like, for instance, NYX Milky Gloss, which has both and not in a good way).If you haven’t tried Butter Gloss before, find a shade you love and try it. I keep a stockpile in with my beauty products and usually do a bulk purchase when I find a color that I really like, because NYX discontinues colors and changes things up now and again.

This is my second time buying & it’s about to be my 3rd lol. I get the 20 shade in red velvet for reference. I know I’m going to sound a little but extra here, but I like to mix some of this with the lip gloss I get from the beauty supply store (or just any clear lip gloss you prefer) and the effect is so cute you can definitely see I’m wearing it mixed with the pictures provided and I love how it turns out every single time. It gives you that subtle red lip vibe & it’s just too cute not to get!! My only downfall with it is the reapplication because it does smudge but it’s nothing too bad in my opinion.

I love NYX butter gloss product lime because the gloss provides me with a natural look and color without making me look too made up. I can wear it to work, the gym, or church. It last fo hours before I have to retouch up. It doesn’t dry my lips out.

This butter gloss is definitely like a lip oil since it really hydrated the lips. The shade is a little dark on me. But I only applied a little bit of it to tone it down. It mixes well with other glosses to get your desires look.

Nyx is always a pretty solid brand for makeup. Their butter gloss does not miss. I put it on both as-is and used over a lip tint, lipstick, and man did it look great. It has a wonderful vanilla smell I love, too. Overall, I’d recommend this gloss.
